Here are my top five albums of 2024, there were a lot of great albums this year especially in the area of Indie Artist. As you can tell I have two in the #1 slot.
Hope you enjoy. I have two #1 albums, they are both so good I just couldn’t pick one. They are “A Million Moments” by Jenni Dale Lord & “When It All Goes Down” by Sarah King. These two artist consider themselves Americana artist. But there is a slight difference between them. Jenni is also Country & Sarah is also Folk-Blues. Will start with Jenni’s album, this has something for everyone. Some of my favorites are I Still Think About You, I’m A Little Teapot, Story Of Your Life, A Million Moments & BeSame Mucho. Jenni has an amazing voice, being from Lubbock, TX. She has a little bit of that Texas twang to it, plus it’s also in a lower octave then most female sings, which I really love. Also, Jenni is an awesome songwriter. She can really bring you into the song, because she writes in a way that everyone will be able to relate. Also, #1 spot is “When It All Goes Down” By Sarah King. I have known Sarah for a few years. Just love her voice, she has such a unique voice. It is very hard to pinpoint. When Sarah sings she really catches your attention & brings you into the story. Sarah is also an awesome songwriter, Sarah songs are usually on the deep & dark side of life. But she does it in a way that makes it enjoyable to listen to. Some of my favorite songs off this album are. Whiskey Thinking, Always and Almost, The Longest Night, Plus she does an amazing version of Led Zeppelin's Hey Hey What Can I Do. In the #2 Spot A dear friend of mine Kayla Von der Heide and her EP The Desert. Kayla has a style & sound all her own. Once you listen to her sing, you will understand. Kayla’s vocals are so haunting in a good way and her songwriting abilities are outstanding. She writes about Life but in a whole new & beautiful perspective. Here are a few of my favorites on this EP. Are You On My Side, In Your Energy & The Desert. In #3 Spot Is Alyssa Galvan this young lady force to be reckon with. She has a voice that allows her to sing some of the amazing song of the early Blues era. Such as Bessie Smith, Big Momma Thornton and others. Alyssa knowledge of this style of music is mine blowing. Alyssa recently got married in France to an equally great musician Mat’eo Perfetti. Together they formed the Alyssa Galvan Band. Their debut album is topnotch. To me the album is kind of a take on a new perspective of Rock/Blues with a lot of Funk infused into it. Few of my favorite songs are. Turning Blue, Good Feeling, All Of Me, Darling & Lady with features Bob Margolin. I am very proud of the growth that Alyssa has shown. In the #4 spot Blueprints by Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast. This band is one of my favorite rock bands for 2024 and I wouldn’t really classify them as Rock. They are much more than that. They are more of a Rock & Roll/ Roots & Blues infused. Couple songs from this album I really like are. Blue Monday, Piece Of You & Have to Say Goodbye. In the #5 Spot Reel to Real by Arielle. Arielle is definitely a Roker, but she tends to put a lot of 60’s/70’s vibes into her music. Which makes for a great combination of songs. Some of my favorite ones are. Bell-Bottoms & Bel Airs, Love Yourself & Mirror of Love. I highly recommend checking out these albums.
