GeminiiDragon
I first of GeminiiDragon on YouTube. The first song I heard was “Good Thang”, I was captured by the sound of her voice. She definitely has a Funky/Soul sound, which really captures your attention. GeminiiDragon has a way to sing a song by putting so many emotions into with her vocals that it’s almost like a Religious experience. GeminiiDragon also has strong songwriting skills, she really draws from her roots of growing up in Louisiana. A lot of her songs have a lot of the old Blues influences, plus the songs also have a healthy dose of Funk. GeminiiDragon has a new album coming out “Equinox” I can’t wait to hear it. I highly recommend checking out the links below to hear the amazing songs from GeminiiDragon. I had the chance to ask GeminiiDragon some questions. The answers are below. Enjoy. https://www.facebook.com/GeminiiDragon/ https://linktr.ee/GeminiiDRAGON https://www.youtube.com/@GeminiiDRAGON 1.How long have you been playing music? As a legitimate artist, about two years. As an aspiring artist, which probably doesn’t count… lol.. off and on since 2004. 2.How many bands have you been in? I’ve been in 1 working band, and several others that didn’t make it past rehearsals. 3.Where were you born? Thibodaux, La 4.Are you self-taught? Yes and No. I was a voice major for a couple of years. What I learned then helps me be more aware of vocal health. However, I entered into this major when I was in my late twenties. 5.Who are your biggest influences? Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Koko Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, Nina Simone 6.What style of music do you consider yours? Blues Rock 7.What was your first gig? How old were you? My first paid gig; a 30-minute set opening for Ronnie Bell and Nicole Jackson at a small club in Houma, La called The Boulevard Ultra Lounge in 2014. I guess my first time performing or singing would be in church when I was a little girl. 8.What advice do you have for someone starting out in the music business? Be knowledgeable, research who is doing it well and learn from them, find a team of people you trust and that know more than you do, work hard and consistently. 9.Do you write your own songs? I spent years writing my own songs, not wanting to collaborate or turn over the reins to anyone, incorrectly thinking to be legitimate I had to do it all on my own… didn’t get me anywhere. Now, I’ve collaborated with someone who has been doing it longer and better and successfully. I’m content with co-writing. 10.What would people be surprised to hear that you have in your personal record collection? Too much to name. I listen to everything. I love music. Country, gospel, classic rock, metal, rap, jazz, R&B, funk, etc. 11.What would you be doing if playing music was not an option? Working a regular job, braiding hair and sewing on the side and feeling miserable. 12.Besides your own songs, what is your favorite song to perform? I love to perform “Voodoo Woman” by Koko Taylor I love to sing “Blue Jean Blues” by ZZ Top 13.If you were strictly a songwriter, who would you like to see sing your songs? I honestly don’t have time in my day to listen enough to new music to answer this, so I will say, anyone who would be willing to pay for the licensing… lol
