LilG
This blog is about LilG from Australia, She is around 11 years old. But has the talent & skill of someone much older. I first saw LilG on YouTube doing a Stevie Ray Vaughan song, She nailed it. LilG also can do an amazing job on the Surf Guitar sound of the early days of Dick Dale. LilG’ s debut album is Surf Music, sounds great. But it seems that in the last couple years she has lean more towards the Blues style. I feel that LilG has made the right choice, even though her vocals are not quite there yet. But she does have a strong singing voice. I feel that LilG has the Heart & Soul to sing the Blues with such conviction for such a young age. LilG’ s guitar playing seems so effortless, like she has been playing for years. Each note she plays you can hear the passion from her. LilG is always busking in Australia, She post some of the videos of her busking and I have to say that she keeps getting better with each one. When I watch LilG on her videos I can see how she really gets into the music she plays. She has a strong passion for music, which I can really appreciate and admire. I feel that someday LilG will be playing to large crowds soon, So I know that I am going to be following LilG’ s career because I believe that she is destined for great things. Here are some questions that I got to ask LilG, I really love some of answers they are so honest. You know anyone? LOL 3. Where were you born? I’m Australian born and bred 4. Are you self-taught? No not self-taught, I’ve had a few teachers and I currently attend the conservatory for music to prepare for university 5.. Who are your biggest influences? My biggest influences are the three Kings, SRV, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt the list goes on and on.. I try to get a little out of everything I listen to. 6. What style of music do you consider yours? I’m definitely a Blues girl at heart.. but dial up a nice wet drippy tone and surfs up 😉 7. What was your first gig? How old were you? My advice is surround yourself with the best quality you can find. That goes for gear, teachers etc.. Then practice till you think you don’t need to then practice twice as much. 9. Do you write your own songs? yes I’m currently just developing my song writing skills, I do improve all the time but that’s the same thing. 10. My personal song list (I don’t have a record collection in 11 it’s all downloads) Everything from Pink to the Kings to Plácido Domingo you name it I probably have something in there.. It’s a tough one between Boogie and Hootchie both for different reasons but if you press me to choose one I’ll go boogie.. 13. If you were strictly a songwriter, who would you like to see sing your songs? Someone young, someone with feels and someone with a dream, if it has to be a famous person, Pink.. we adore her for her life philosophy and self-presentation she rules and is a great example of how girls and woman can do anything..

I am 79 years old and a lifelong fan of the blues. I ran across LilG on Facebook. I live in Arkansas USA but I am from Texas. She is a pleasure to watch and listen to. I am very impressed by her progress on the guitar. I am looking forward to hearing her voice change as she ages. I also like her hair. Lol.
